There are a group of models which I call origami-first designs and which could also be described as useful origami, origami objects, or practical origami. These are origami models such as boxes which can be used in and of themselves. They are not abstract designs, but they can’t be called figurative, either, since they do not try to represent any other objects. They just stand for themselves and are designed as origami from the ground up.
