Hedgehog Star III

A follow-up design to Hedgehog Star II from February. There is a color-change, but in this fold I used two kinds of metallic paper, each same color on both sides: Majestic Mellow Yellow and Stardream Serenity for yellow and blue, respectively, the national colors of Ukraine. Apparently, this hedgehog not only has spikes for protection but teeth for biting back as well.
The units of Hedgehog Star III are folded from equilateral triangles while II is from squares. The model is not the strongest, but it is surprisingly stable given how little paper it uses for the locks: it’s just a tiny fold near one vertex that really attaches one unit to another, there are few folds and few layers, and a very large part of the whole sheet is visible. Both sides look the same, so one could say it’s an iso-area modular star. The external outline of the model resembles a sunflower.
