The name of this Sonobe variant comes from the arrows which look like a paper airplane that you can see on the units. In the assembled model, the tips of these airplanes are covered by white parts from other units, but you can still see the pattern.

I created this design while preparing a workshop in which I taught the standard Sonobe unit by modifying my SEU Sonobe. Further modifications led me to Bow-Tie Sonobe and Checkered Sonobe.
