This is my design for a monument to the traditional origami crane. I envision it executed in grand size, standing on a public square or in front of an origami museum, preferably in a hilly area. The crane is about to take off and soar high.

This design is folded from a single sheet, but for practical reasons, a realization of appropriate size would need to use other materials. As an origami design representing another origami design, it is an example of what I call metaorigami.
