PVM Vertex Unit (regular)

Instructions
Back to Pyramid Vertex Module (PVM)

See other sections of this tutorial for instructions on folding other unit variants.

The role of the Vertex Unit is to be placed in the model’s vertices. The standard alignment is with the pyramid’s tip pointing outwards, but it is possible to direct them inwards. Compare this variant with the sunken version.

Step 1
1. Start with a square piece of paper. Crease both diagonals.
Step 2
2. Crease from the midpoint of one edge to the center point where diagonals cross.
Step 3a
3a. Collapse along the creases to form a trigonal pyramid. The crease will open by itself, but this is not a problem since after attaching a connector modules, the vertex module will be held in place.
Step 3b
3b. View from the top.
Step 4
4. Pyramid held together by connector unit.

In case the model exposes the interior of the pyramid more than its exterior, the flap can be placed on the outside of the pyramid instead of inside, as seen below.
