Works in Progress

This album groups models which have pictures taken at a Work in Progress [WIP] stage. They are usually not as nice as images of finished models, but they may offer insights related to the design and folding process. Note that there is a separate album for precreased sheets, which could be seen as very early stages of folding.

Java Duke

I got this nice viking-style Java Duke from the organizers of JavaZone. Quick origami sketch on the right. It was great to be here. Thank you!

Shifted Bricks

Shifted Bricks

Despite similar looks, this tessellation is not Momotani’s Wall — it is a different pattern designed by myself. Its relation to Momotani’s Wall is roughly su...

Parallelograms (prototype)

Parallelograms (prototype)

This is the prototype fold of Parallelograms Tessellation. It’s quite representative of my design technique: a quick doodle on a small grid and a rough sketc...

Ridges Corrugation (32×32 grid)

Saturn Tessellation

This tessellation is based on a 128×92 grid. Image is created from a four-sink-base tessellation by folding up some of the squares’ corners. While I’ve seen ...

Crystal Structure of Gibbsite

Crystal Structure of Gibbsite

I designed this model as cover art for Surface Charging and Points of Zero Charge, a book by my father, Marek Kosmulski. It is a reference work in electro- a...

Menger Sponge (level 2)

Menger Sponge (level 2)

This is a labor-intensive, but very satisfying to fold model. Some people have managed to go as far as level 3 but even level 2 was quite challenging. About ...

Large Icosahedron

Large Icosahedron
