Daffodil (CFW 97)

This model is not pictured in any of Shuzo Fujimoto’s books. It is only mentioned in one sentence in a paragraph of text. Deciphering this text (which describes also other models) was not easy, but with the help of some Japanese native speakers I was able to understand it, and to try to reproduce the model based on the somewhat cloudy description. Many thanks to Shu Sugamata, Go Kinoshita, Kaori Fujimoto, Yukiko Futamura, Lara Diamand (@origamitraces), and anyone else in case I missed someone! Luckily, I could also confirm that my understanding of the model was almost correct since I found exactly this model among the models folded by Fujimoto I received from Roberto Morassi. The only difference was I originally expected the folds narrowing down the petals to be mountain folds while Fujimoto’s rendition used valley folds. With the model now fully understood, I could fold it, and here it is, retrieved from the depths of one cryptic sentence in one book for you to enjoy.
