This star by Shuzo Fujimoto has flat-capped teeth rather than sharp rays. Back side has a color change. It is possible to fold this design from a hexagon (as shown here), but variants from other polygons are possible as well. The more sides the starting polygons has, the more elongated the teeth of the gear become (an example for an octagon is given in Twist Origami I, page 32).
