On Saturday, October 22nd, 2022, we will be celebrating the hundredth anniversary of Shuzo Fujimoto’s birth (he was born on October 27th, 1922). The online event, organized by myself, Ilan Garibi, and Guy Loel, is free for all to attend. It will take place from 12:00 GMT to 16:30 GMT. To participate, please register using this form.
Shuzo Fujimoto (藤本修三) was a pioneer of geometric origami, one of the first to design tessellations and corrugations, and to work with the hex grid. He also devised many interesting geometric constructions for various angles, dividing paper into Nths, etc. The event will start with a short introduction about his life and his influence upon the development of origami. The Catalog of Fujimoto’s Works (CFW) will be officially unveiled. There will also be one surprise announcement which I hope to be a real treat for Fujimoto fans. We will then have four workshops of various models designed by Fujimoto, followed by the Joisel Awards ceremony.
