This is a category of models folded from multiple sheets of paper, but with the sheets folded in ways sufficiently different for the model not being modular origami. This may include, for example, animals folded from two separate sheets for the front and hind part of the body. I originally used the term non-modular multi-sheet for such designs until David Mitchell made me aware of the term compound which is also sufficiently unambiguous but so much more elegant.
