Speaking at FoldFest 2024: AI in Origami
On Saturday, April 27, 2024, I will be speaking about Artificial Intelligence in origami at FoldFest 2024, an online origami convention organized by OrigamiUSA. My talk is scheduled for 9:00-10:00 p.m. CEST (= 3:00 p.m. EDT, 12:00 p.m. PDT). The talk will be an introduction to the topic, both to AI in general, and to its uses in origami, so no prior experience with the topic is required.
Talk summary: Systems using AI (Artificial Intelligence) have been making inroads into various areas of technology and start affecting our daily lives more and more. The hype based around recent advancements has brought the topic to public attention. My talk will discuss various ways in which AI might affect origami, and suggest areas of research which could make AI-based tools for origami design a reality.
